The statement making “Cross Easy Chair” was making waves at administrative housing like M.L.A Hostel (hostel for civil servants) and M.L.A Flat (residences for civil servants) in Chandigarh during 1955-56. Similar models are currently on display at the Swiss National Museum in Zurich and Le Corbusier Center in Chandigarh. Catalogued as PJ-SI-45A, this eye-catching Pierre Jeanneret Cross Easy Chair or X Leg Chair is a teakwood armchair with canework on the seat and backrest. The X style double leg assembly continues on to form the armrests and is connected by a crosspiece. The slanted backrest with canework is separate from the seat.
