The aptly titled Pierre Jeanneret Armless Dining Chair referred to as the “Student Chair” was widely used at the Panjab University in Chandigarh, India. The chair model has been sourced back to university housing known as ‘Hostel for Girls’ (1959) and ‘Hostel for Boys’ (1961) and was later cataloged under reference number PJ-SI-25B. This armless chair has been constructed from solid teak wood and is characterized by its braided cane work seat and backrest as well as the asymmetricalV-shaped' legs. The slightly slanted backrest is attached to the seat with two sturdy supports at the bottom.
